TOWNSHIP CEMETERIES

In 1945 the St. Charles Township formed a cemetery department for the care and maintenance of North and South Cemetery. The Township was able to levy a tax for the care of the cemeteries. Little Woods Cemetery in Wayne was added in 1951. Prairie Cemetery on Crane Road was added to the department in 1957. Union Cemetery was turned over to the Township in 1972. In 1989 with a need for cemetery property on the west side of the township, a 5 acre addition was added to Prairie Cemetery. In 1997 Round Grove Cemetery was given to the Township by Dr. Haskins.
