SENIOR CITIZENS SERVICES COMMITTEE

When the federal General Revenue Sharing program was ended, the Illinois legislature enacted a law which has townships a way to replace that funding source for agencies serving seniors. In 1987 St. Charles Township established the Senior Citizens Services Committee. The Committee operates under the auspices of the Township Supervisor. Grant requests can be submitted in January and February each year. Over the past several years, it has made grants to a number of agencies that provide vital services to senior residents age 55 and over.
